When All The Laughter Has Gone (Vinyl)

Cult Finnish blackened doom band Dolorian formed in Oulu in 1997, and released three influential studio albums between 1999 and 2006, along with an additional split 7” with Swedish extreme metal masters Shining in 2003. The band was subsequently laid to rest, with vocalist/guitarist Antti Haapapuro currently active in the equally dark act, Unfyros.
 
‘When All The Laughter Has Gone’ was Dolorian’s debut album, which was originally released in 1999. Throughout its duration, the trio (completed by Ari Kukkohovi on drums/guitar/bass, and Jussi Ontero on synths) conjure a series of sublime and hypnotic, sombre and ethereal soundscapes. The oppressive yet enchanting atmospheres from the synths twist amid walls of punishing guitars and sparse melodies to evoke an unmistakable sense of impending and resonating dread and despair.
 
‘When All The Laughter Has Gone’ was recorded at the renowned Tico-Tico studios in Kemi, Finland in 1998 (Sentenced, Impaled Nazarene, Moonsorrow).
 
Following much demand in recent years as the enduring underground reputation of the band remains as strong and enigmatic as ever, this is the first pressing of ‘When All The Laughter Has Gone’ on the vinyl format, and includes a printed inner sleeve with lyrics.
