Released in 1982, the album Waka Juju marks Manu Dibango’s return to the Afro-sound. It features tracks such as “Douala Serenade” and “Ma Marie,” a tribute to his late wife, Marie, known as “Coco.” Waka Juju is an ode to juju, the traditional Yoruba music.
